Description

Owners comments...
Skylark Way is such a special property for us. We moved in 2007 and purchased the house from a lovely couple who had owned the house since new. We got engaged and married whilst living there and loved the flexibility, location and outside space.

We are very lucky at Skylark Way to have such lovely neighbours. They are so kind and helpful and there’s such a lovely community feeling within the shared driveway.
The house has two evenly sized bedrooms with large windows. The living-dining room opens onto the south west facing garden which is a private and sunny space. We love how the sun moves round the garden as the day progresses, meaning there’s always a sunny and shady spot. The garden is low maintenance but gives an enormous feeling of space, room for kids and families or to host friends for the odd barbecue. Whilst the kitchen is compact, it has everything we’d like including a handy dishwasher and the space works well for cooking and baking. The downstairs toilet has lots of space for shoes and coats which we found useful.
The house is tucked away in such a nice corner plot, and we’ve loved having the extra space compared to other 2 bed houses. The garage along with space for 3 cars makes a real difference every day, with a gate which goes round to the spacious front garden.
Having School Green within such a short walking distance is a huge plus point, with many community events taking place nearby. There is a Lidl, Co-op, post-office, pub and more, along with a café, dr and dentist, and community centre. This is further boosted by the local schools at Shinfield Infants and Alder Grove, both recognised for their excellent education.

The quiet outlook and proximity to School Green have been so useful to us and we’ve often been on walks and bike rides around the local area. Living in Shinfield means that there are many local connections, with bus routes to Reading and Wokingham, and access to town and countryside nearby. We love this location!
Although we have loved Skylark Way, it’s time for a new family to enjoy the house, garden and community

Dan & Neil Estate Agents comments...

Wow! There isn't much more to add over and above what the lovely owners have... although we really must stress how much of a unique find this home is! A two bed with a garage & this much parking alone is almost unheard of, but to also have a plot as tucked away and large as this one really is something special.

There's plenty of room to enjoy the house gardens as they are, and there's also lots of room to grow with it too.

Area Comments…

This home is nicely tucked away on Skylark Way with a green and play area nearby, making it ideal for families. There’s also a handy cut-through nearby that takes you straight to School Green, so you're really well connected to all the local amenities. Within walking or short driving distance, you have a garden centre, a Co-Op, the new Lidl,  post office, and several well-loved pubs in the village – including The Shinfield Arms!

Shinfield is a hugely popular spot, thanks to its central location and abundance of green space. Just a few minutes' walk from the house, you’ll find the beautiful Langley Mead nature reserve – perfect for walks, bike rides, or weekend exploring. There are also various play parks and open spaces dotted around the area, ideal for little ones to burn off energy. For families, Alder Grove Primary sits within Shinfield Meadows, and there are plenty of other good schools in the area, making this an ideal base for growing households.

Commuters will love the easy access to main bus routes into Reading and Wokingham, as well as being just minutes from Mereoak Park & Ride, Junction 11 of the M4, and Green Park – now with its own train station offering direct links into Reading and London.
