Description
Brickworks Says - If you want to enjoy the benefits of city life, this fresh-feeling pad will suit you nicely. The open-plan living space is split into zones for eating and relaxing, and it gets a triple dose of sunlight through the large sash windows. And while a comfortable size, the high ceilings only enhance the sense of space.
The configuration means the bedrooms enjoy a satisfying degree of separation, improved by the split–level layout, making it ideal for renters or as a work-from-home space. The back room bedroom is our pick, being tucked away and with large, floor-to-ceiling cupboards, but both have views of the iconic Battersea Power Station. Throughout, the interiors are minimal and calming, with white-washed walls complemented by warm, natural wood flooring.
Wandsworth Road is within striking distance of some of London's most famous landmarks, including the aforementioned Battersea Power Station, Battersea Park, The River Thames, and The Oval. Nine Elms and the surrounding neighbourhoods provide for all your weekend needs. You can have coffee and brunch at District, get a cultural fix at Tate Britain, shop at Battersea Power Station, or take a riverside walk along the Thames. Additionally, with the Nine Elms tube (Northern line) providing easy access to the rest of the capital, London is your oyster.
The Owners Say - This flat has been a fantastic first home. The transport links into town are invaluable, and we have had a wonderful time living in the flat. It's so convenient to get to our offices and reach friends in every part of town. Typically, we start the weekend by walking either up to Moonstruck and Italo, around Vauxhall and along the river, down through Larkhall Park to Clapham, or around Battersea Park and the power station––there are so many handy shops there now. Nine Elms station has also opened up really convenient routes to Soho, where we often end up on the weekend, able to be home within 15 minutes.
Within the flat, we'll miss the light through the big windows in the mornings and the sunsets through the trees and over the power station from the bedrooms. After experiencing the usual downsides of living in old buildings, it has been so satisfying to live here, where the kitchen and bathroom and the quality of the light and space feel so clean and modern.
