RightmoveAddict does Grand Designs Live

I’m an avid visitor of Grand Designs Live so when we were asked to speak on at the London show it was a dream come true.

Arriving on the first day we were filled with a mix of excitement, in trepidation and nerves.  Our presentation was about using social media to find interior design ideas. Our audience was engaged and even took notes, what a great start to our first presentation at Grand Designs Live.

Whilst there we took every opportunity to walk round the abundance of stands displaying everything from Kitchens to Home Technology from Sheds to Interiors.  The layout of Grand Designs is great and so related stands are all grouped together.  The atmosphere was fantastic everyone eager to learn more about the wealth of exciting products and new technologies available.

Some of my highlights were seeing old friends and meeting new.  NewLife Paints are a great company I have known for a while so was great to see them there promoting their new collection Reborn.  REBORN is a superb collection of 28 beautifully subtle tones of high quality, low carbon, matt emulsion eco paint.  It even caught the eye of Kevin McCloud who singled it out as one of his Green Heroes.

Some of my other favourite finds were:

Wrought Iron and Brass Bed Company, a Norfolk based family run company, design and build beds on their farm in Norfolk.  It wasn’t just the beds that I fell in love with but the family and their story.

Anyone who is an reads my blog will know how much I love a pantry, and this one from Simon’s Kitchens will certainly be added to my Pantry Envy collection.

These amazing Lights from MacMaster Design are handmade from the thinnest pieces of wood.  The passion and love in making each piece was apparent.

One of my funniest moments was taking part in a demonstration in how to plaster, with The DIY School.  Yes I did learn how to plaster and had so much fun doing it with this comic duo.

Whilst walking around the maze of stands I came across a familiar sight, this stand of course needs no introduction.  I thought I would give them a hand, as no one knows Rightmove better than a RightmoveAddict!

I could go on for days telling you about the amazing products, technology, ideas oozing out of every millimeter of Excel but that would be giving too much away.  Grand Designs Live is back in October in Birmingham, I will be there, will you?
