    Some good ideas for buyers
    1. Speak with your mortgage consultant to arrange the best loan to suit your needs.

    2.     Prepare a short list of locations that suit your lifestyle. Keep in mind affordability and accommodation requirements.

    3.     Research sales in those preferred areas using The Dorset Echo, The Dorset Magazine, The Bridport Herald, The Blackmore Vale Magazine and local publications. Ask for local knowledge. Inspect every property in your preferred area so you have a feel for the price

    4. Develop a relationship with one of our Property Consultants here at Meyers Estate Agents specialising in your personal property search. The agent will be able to offer additional advice and also alert you to new listings before they reach the media.

    5.     When you find a property that suits your requirements, ask your agent to send a copy of the memo of sale contracts to your solicitor or conveyancer.

    6.     We recommend that you arrange a Home Buyers Survey to make you aware of any major defects and pest concerns eg: wood boring insects, damp.

    7.     Following your solicitors or conveyancers advice on the sale contract and taking into consideration the building and pest reports, you are now able to make an informed decision to proceed with an exchange on the property and arrange moving dates through the legal teams. Exchange usually happens about a week or two before completion.

    8.     If you are bidding at an auction, we recommend you read the Office of Fair Trading's "Bidder's Guide" before you attend any auction.

    9. Set up an early call on completion day to your solicitor and request that your case is completed as soon as possible so that you don't have a long drawn out day.

    10. On completion day, your solicitor or conveyancer may request that you pick the keys up from the Estate Agents office. This is to ensure that the property clear and ready for you to move into when the previous owner has departed from the property.

    Alex worked in corporate agency up to the position of Regional Manager, having run successful branches in Weymouth, Canford Heath and Parkstone. Alex understands the value of hard work and attaining success through fulfilling the client's needs. His vision for the future is to help Meyers improve the quality of the service that can be offered to clients and ensure that the local community benefits from his own success. He is married to Leanne, has 4 children and a dog called Elsa.

    LeAnne Hill, Office Manager
    LeAnne has had a successful career in sales for 13 years with previous experience in corporate agency. She decided to join the Meyers team and work alongside her husband as she believes in the family values that the company portrays and high levels of customer service. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with family and her dog called Elsa.

    Lewis Hill, Senior Real Estate Agent
    Lewis has been working in the property industry since 2017, having gone through the corporate route to gain vital experience. He joined his father in the family business in 2018 and has worked his way up the ranks to a Senior Real Estate Agent through perseverance, and a consistent approach to customer service. Working with his father, he has helped the family business grow, by abiding by the core values that Meyers pride themselves on. Lewis is a keen Arsenal supporter and enjoys playing golf and spending time with his partner.

    Darren Gough, Sales Manager 
    Darren worked in corporate agency from 2008, starting as negotiator and working up to the position of Senior Branch Manager. Darren joined Meyers as a Sales Manager in 2022, as our ethos and focus on customer service really resonates with him. He is married to Harriet and has 3 boys, a cat named Dave and a Tortoise named Ninja. In his spare time Darren loves football and has a passion for live music.

    Jorden is our Branch Administrator and is responsible for co-ordinating the daily activities of the team ensuring everyone is supported to be able to operate to the best of their abilities. She joined the team in 2021 after changing career paths from retail sales. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her friends, family and partner Lewis.

    Emily has been involved in Agency for 10 years, having started her career in an independent agency in Kent. With such a wealth of experience in the business and customer service, it was an obvious decision for her role to be helping clients progress the sales, once in hand. She moved to Dorset 7 years ago to marry the love of her life, Daniel, whom she married, and together they have raised two lovely children, Mindy and Jack.
