      Originally from Ripley Holly started working within Estate Agency in February of 2013. Initially focusing on the lettings market in Belper where she became familiar with the jargon and processes involved when renting property. While in this role she won a variety of awards and was recognised as the 'best new-comer' of that year as part of a large corporate company. She then transitioned to being a sales negotiator for the same company in there large Derby city centre office. The Derby office was busy and competitive, however Holly thrived off of this and was able to achieve a lot of success and was awarded best sales negotiator in the company for 2015 & 2016. Leading to invitations to the national conference and trips to Dubai and Monaco.Although her career was progressing well in Derby Holly felt she wanted to challenge herself further and began training to value property in 2017. Holly continued to be the valuer for the ilkeston branch of the company that she had now been part of for four years, until late 2019 when she went on to maternity leave to have her son Joey. Holly was also occupied during this time by managing her own rental property which was purchased in 2021 so she has first hand experience of being a landlord herself. Holly first met Victoria on her first day as a lettings negotiator in Belper. She was fortunate enough to have Victorias help to guide her and show her how the estate agency business worked. As Matthew also worked for the company on Hollys transition to the Derby office they would now work closer together and coincidentally both attend the trip to Monaco previously mentioned due to there individual triumphs.After maternity leave Holly would find herself search Rightmove and aspiring to get back to the role she once had. Although with a young son to now consider it wasn't something she felt possible. That was until Matthew came out to value her house in February 2022 and they instantly realised that Matthew could provide a great work life balance for her and her family which allowed her to return to the career she excelled in. Which has lead us to where we are today, a great close knit team of dedicated staff who have a wealth of knowledge and experience within the industry.Being a local girl her knowledge of Ripley and the surround area is perfect and she has first hand experiences of local schools and amenities from being brought up in the area. If there is anything that you want to know about the area you're settling in then she is likely to be able to offer advice and guidance. - And if she doesn't know she can just ask Matthew! In her spare time Holly is with her husband Sam and 2 year old son, Joey. As a family they enjoy walking around the local countryside, trips to Centre Parcs and taking Joey to child entertainment venues. She also loves to exercise, shop & eat out!

      Victoria - Sales
      Victoria started her working career at the age of 16, always working in the fashion retail sector until the age of 19, when a friend of hers convinced her to try for a trial day at a large estate agents. The trial day didn't go too well, as she sent out a huge amount of letters with no details on. Her persistence worked though as she managed to convince them to give her a job! This is where she met Matthew, almost 12 years ago.She progressed through to various different roles within the company at different offices, she worked at Ilkeston as a Senior Negotiator which was great as she is originally from Sandiacre and has a wealth of knowledge in the area. She then went on to be a Senior Negotiator in charge of Belper, which she enjoyed as she lived there for a short while and loved the quirky and character properties it holds.During her 4 years with the company, she won various awards, including the most individual agreed let's across the whole company, winning her an all expenses paid holiday to Palma! She decided to have a change of career in 2014 and started in recruitment in Derby; recruiting for white collar engineers in the Rail and Civil Engineering sectors. Whilst working there, Matthew and Victoria welcomed their first baby, Ethan in 2016. She absolutely loved learning about what each job entails to work as an engineer, but decided it just wasn't for her and to be honest, missed estate agency a lot.She took up various jobs between having Ethan and in 2019 their Daughter Elodie, including Beauty (where she met Clare!) back to fashion retail, and lastly mortgage administration, so if you need any information on the process of a mortgage application, she may be able to help (but not advise of course!).When covid hit, although an incredibly tough time for everyone, the property market had a huge boom as we all know. Matthew had been working solely for 2 years already, and they decided that in 2020, that would be the right time for them to join together once again. It's working out well so far, they're still married at least!! Her favourite thing about the job is hard to decide, having left the industry and come back again, she realised how much she missed about it and how much she really does love about it. Handing over the keys to those you've helped along the way is an incredible feeling and also meeting and speaking with so many lovely people along the way. Being nosey around such wonderful properties is a huge perk too!!

      Clare - Lettings
      After attending college and studying media, Clare knew she wanted to get into the working world! Whilst studying, she had a part time job at a sport store where she began to learn her customer service skills.To date she has 21 years of customer service under her belt! (She's not old enough, surely?) After 3 years, she decided it was the time to go into full time work, where she began her retail banking career for the now defunct, Derbyshire Building Society. During her 10 year career there, she worked her way up and gained many promotions. During her time with the company, she received many awards for her customer service experience and Employee of the month! Dealing with finances from short term investments to mortgages and insurance protection has stood Clare very well in the cross over to her estate agency career.It was in 2020, Clare decided to put her own house on the market with Matthew Thomas Residential because of Victoria being a friend, but also wanting to support a local business and not a corporate machine. The eventual buyer even asked Clare on the viewing "Are you an estate agent? If you're not, then you should be!" Clare's friends would often remark on how much she studied Rightmove and if they went on walks with the children that she'd be able to tell them how much a property was up for sale for or sold for!So when the opportunity arose for Clare to start her estate agency career with Matthew Thomas, she jumped at the chance! It's been absolutely the best career move she could've made.She loves helping people find their perfect home, answering any questions or explaining some of the complicated language in lay-man's terms. The best bit? Getting the phone call from the solicitors to say "transaction complete , release the keys!" Handing those keys over and seeing the happiness it brings!
