Description

Immaculate, big and bright two bedroom second floor apartment with a share of the building's Freehold. Large communal gardens seal the deal.

Find your new home within a smart and purpose-built Edwardian mansion block, with stupendous ceiling height and large windows.

You are really close to Devonshire Road Nature Reserve (three minutes by foot) and to central Forest Hill and Forest Hill's Fare Zone 3 station (walk just five minutes).

The flat has been entirely and thoughtfully remodelled and renovated under its current ownership. You are in for a treat! And even the property's orientation is delightful: west at the front and east at the back - meaning great light throughout the apartment, throughout the day.

From your own front door, take a right into your roomy and triple-sashed reception room (you will struggle to find these dimensions in a house!) - of over 17 feet by over 15 feet. Engineered oak graces the floor, and a central fireplace with cast iron insert plus coving and rose detail further feature and impress.

Next along the handsome hall and you have your master bedroom (of over 15 feet by over 14 feet). Another feature fireplace brings on the smiles. A sash window gives you verdant views, and you have brilliant built-in closets (custom-made carpentry is always a winner) with book-shelving to one end by your natural reading spot by the window.

Next along is your delightful windowed bathroom, with concealed plumbing, contemporary high-end sanitary ware and fittings (Philippe Starck), and large format tiles (Fired Earth).

At the end of the hall you open (another lovely pine door) to your generous kitchen/dining room, which has a bespoke plywood kitchen from Wood and Wire in Yorkshire, with integrated appliances (Siemens) and even a 35 bottle wine fridge. A smart custom-made cabinet in the dining area sits next to your third (yay!) fireplace.

Off this room you have bedroom number two (which is currently in use as a home office/guest bedroom) - of over 10 feet by over 7 feet, with a sash window to green views.

The enormous communal garden (which hosts a bike store) is well-tended and much-enjoyed by residents.

Forest Hill has a buzzy and friendly town centre, with a good modern leisure centre, a large Sainsbury's store, and loads of pleasing independent offerings; including a fab free range butcher (The Butchery) and lots of cafes too - including St David Coffee House (your most local cafe). The Sylvan Post is a local quirky real ale place with good food in an old Post Office. Big Cheeks Thai is a top spot too.

For more options, local towns include Honor Oak (at the other end of Devonshire Road, with lovely high street and pizza place in a former Victorian bank), East Dulwich, Sydenham, Brockley and Peckham.

Horniman Gardens and Museum are definitely worth your weekend-time, as is One Tree Hill (we like the London skyline views up here).

Forest Hill Station is close for London-bound trains, and Overgound services to Hoxton, Clapham Junction and Canada Water (for Canary Wharf) among other destinations. There are also plenty of useful bus routes upon the South Circular.
