Dumfries (20 miles) also offers a wide range of facilities including a choice of restaurants, an array of shops, garden centres and fitness clubs. The new Dumfries hospital is conveniently situated for an easy and scenic drive to the property.

There is a regular bus service that runs from Rockcliffe to Dumfries and another to Dalbeattie and then onwards to Castle Douglas.
