ACCOMMODATION

The Moorings is an incredibly impressive property, completed in 2020, architecturally designed and built to an exceptionally high standard.  The house is surrounded by mature gardens and the plot occupies a private and secluded position approaching an acre on the edge of the secluded hamlet of Hewton, Overlooking the Tamar Estuary.

The views from the property are quite spectacular over both the estuary and the countryside. The property faces due south and was designed by the acclaimed local architect, Lucy Harman and covered by an Architect’s Certificate for 6 years.  The house has a nautical feel throughout with an abundance of oak.  There is cedar cladding on the south-facing façade and the eastern facade, facing the lane is faced with local stone.  The property is set back from the quiet rural lane by solid, double wooden gates.  Beside the house is extensive parking, below which is further parking, a double car port and twin single garages.

The solid oak, double front doors to the house are particularly impressive and elevates the outstanding first impressions of The Moorings.  Off the stair-cased hallway are the drawing room, study and cloakroom/WC. Beyond is the dining room with a galleried landing above.  This gives a wonderful light, bright and spacious feeling and is ideal for entertaining.
