The Region

Famagusta region of Northern Cyprus has so much to offer. From the fascinating old walled city with its numerous shops, restaurants and bars then driving north past the ruins of ancient Salamis passing miles of sandy beaches coming to the picturesque fishing harbor at Bogaz and then onwards to the magnificent Karpaz peninsula where some exciting developments are taking place firstly at Bafra with 10 new themed hotels planned for construction and then on to the Karpaz Gate Marina. All this and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, yes, Famagusta seems to offer everything.

Famagusta is one of the most important, greatly fortified ports on the shores of the Mediterranean. To the north of Famagusta lie the fabulous ruins of Salamis. This one great city is believed to have been founded in the 11th century BC and after the influences of the many conquering nations, notably the Romans, the city was finally abandoned in 648 AD following the combined catastrophes of earthquake and raids by Arab pirates, when the population moved to Famagusta.

The spectacular ruins give a fascinating insight into long-lost civilizations and include a magnificent amphitheater, Roman baths, a gymnasium and royal tombs. The mosaics are particularly beautiful. Ravaged by war and earthquakes, the old walled town is now only partially inhabited, but it contains some of the finest examples of medieval military architecture extant and the 14th-century Gothic-style Cathedra now a mosque.
Restored and pedestrianized since 1996, the old town of Gazimagusa is a veritable outdoor museum and a real delight to explore, soak up the sunshine and people-watch in quaint cafes. Just minutes away also lays the thriving new town which is becoming increasingly popular with locals and visitors alike as a fun-packed holiday destination. It's an excellent hub for eating-out, shopping and recreation. Nowadays the city comes alive at night with trendy cafes, bars and restaurants offering international cuisine as well as the traditional Cypriot food. Clubs and restaurants have traditional music as well as performers traveling from further afield to satisfy the tastes of all age groups The eastern coastal area of Gazimagusa Bay is one long, very fine beach with excellent facilities and clean, safe bathing and snorkelling. This harbour town is a fantastic destination for summer holidays or permanent living.

About Busy Bees Estate Agents, Bogaz

Ataturk Caddesi, No.1 Soner T.Guder Apt. Bogaz Iskele, North Cyprus, Mersin 10 Turkey

Many estate agents engaged in property sales in North Cyprus are based in the Kyrenia region, on the north coast of the island. This is partly because property developers were quick to realise the potential for Mediterranean style villas and apartments in that part of North Cyprus which had been popular with Europeans, in particular the British, for a long time. North Cyprus property sales were boosted by a demand for holiday apartments and villas in North Cyprus where seaside property with sea views was, and still is, a realistic possibility. The estate agents in North Cyprus are able to offer a valuable service to those seeking advice on buying property in North Cyprus but engaging a good local solicitor is always highly recommended when negotiations are under way.

Busy Bees Estate Agents is a fairly young company based on the edge of the Karpaz Peninsula in the picturesque fishing village of Bogaz. This location was chosen because it is on the south facing coast of North Cyprus between the Karpaz Peninsula and the town of Famagusta. This area is seen by many property developers as a prime area for investments in property and some attractive off plan deals can be passed on to our clients. The growing popularity of this wonderful part of the island of Cyprus is reflected in the multi-million pound development at Bafra; plus a planned new marina. Both are likely to enhance the value of any investment in property in this area.

We have staff fluent in Turkish and English who live in the locality and have excellent business relationships with the local professionals such as architects, North Cyprus solicitors, property developers and builders. Busy Bees are pleased to offer advice to those considering buying property in North Cyprus and can obtain answers to many questions through this network of contacts and associates. Advice and help is also available to those interested in land for sale in North Cyprus where buying a plot of land on which to build is quite an attractive option. See our page on “Buy and Build”.

The Karpaz Peninsula is an area protected from over development due to its status as effectively a nature reserve. Some permission has been granted for selective building of property on the Karpaz Peninsular and Busy Bees have the local knowledge and contacts to be in a position to help clients wishing to purchase in this delightful part of the island. We have a large portfolio of North Cyprus villas, bungalows and apartments, including some superb penthouse apartments, to offer our buying clients and we offer a friendly, professional service to our clients wishing to sell. Please visit our North Cyprus Property Centre and use our “information request” form for further information on any of our villas, apartments, penthouses or land for sale in North Cyprus.
