Exceptional restored property with a windmill, annexe and swimming pool with beautiful views in the Maremma area of Tuscany.

Originally a tax collection point in the 1200s located on the seasonal transhumance route from the Maremma lowlands to Siena, this property was added to over the centuries and then abandoned in the 1960s. It was bought in 1997 as a ruin and entirely restored by the current owners to provide an exciting property with incredible attention to detail and considered the use of recuperated materials and natural products.

In the early 19th century, the Maremma marsh area was drained by the Grand Duke of Tuscany of Tuscany, and farming returned—the landscape now, besides the Mediterranean bush and arable land.

The ca. 604 sq m property is accessed by a short track of approximately 350 mts and is surrounded by water canals instead of fencing. It comprises a main house, an annexe, a pergola/pool house and a wood store.
The land is approximately 1.4 Ha, on which there is a small pond, a vegetable garden, ca. 130 olive trees and fruit trees such as figs, pears, apricots and peaches.
