Description

At over 2200 meters above sea level near the picturesque villages of Molinos and Seclantas in the province of Salta Argentina, the vineyards at La Banda Grande are amongst the highest in the world. The vines grown at this altitude are of the finest quality and much sought after because of their abundant textures and flavours for making big wines.

Within the 30.000 hectares that forms Estancia La Banda Grande, we have carefully selected 100 hectares of land suitable for vineyards and wish to invite, wine loving like minded people to join us and acquire your very own vineyard, capable of producing excellent grapes. These are essential for making the finest wines that will be enjoyed by family and friends for a long time to come.

Wines produced by La Banda Grande's own winemaker Raul ''Yeye'' Davalos nearby at Bodega Tacuil and those of our neighbours at Bodega Colome are being exported to more than 25 countries and many have been rated by Robert Parker (The Wine Advocate) above 92 points.

Besides your own vineyard you will for sure enjoy the marvelous landscapes of the famous Calchaqui Valleys where the sun shines over 330 days per year and the air you breathe is as clean as it was hundreds of years ago.
Tomatoes and other fruits and vegetables still have the real taste they were originally meant to have because they are picked just before being served.

A forestry plan including 2,000 trees is now being planted in close cooperation with the Foundation Nature for the Future to ensure maximising the sustainability of La Banda Grande. When you come to La Banda Grande you will soon see why all the people who stay here are so unusually relaxed.

The key to the success of our vineyards depends on a vital supply of quality water to irrigate the vines.
Our water has been certified as pure mineral drinking water, an exceptional ingredient for the production of top quality grapes.

This is made possible because La Banda Grande standing at 2200 meters above sea level, at this altitude great thermal variation is guaranteed by warm sunny days and cool nights that contributes to the homogenous development of renowned high-altitude wines of great concentration and balance as stated in the "Wine Spectator" in the article Drinking out loud

Due to the superb quality of the grapes harvested at La Banda Grande, one internationally recognised and respected estate, confirmed their willingness to purchase and process our complete production.

For now we have an agreement with the prestigious Estate Colome to purchase the entire harvest from La Banda Grande and given options to bottle part or all the wine under "private label."

Owners at La Banda Grande will be able to choose how to receive the yields from their vineyard;

In cash,
in bottles of wine,
or a combination of both

The spectacular Estancia - Hotel - Museum - Estate Colome lies within 20 minutes travelling, this has the enormous advantage that we are dealing with a first class neighbour with a global presence which allows us to avoid investing millions in our on wine making facility.

That is just the type of investment that is very difficult to recover, as proven in many other projects. Colome belongs to the Hess Family Estates , a Swiss family company with global presence that owns amongst other things seven wine estates on four continents.

They only do business based upon sustainable agricultural and commercial practices.
