Description
Capturing the essence of living in the English Riviera, this FINE COASTAL HOUSE commands exceptional SEA VIEWS over Torquay's Yacht Marina and into Tor Bay with its picturesque coastline, and tower of St John’s Church in the foreground. The views are most prominent from the spacious principal room which flows onto the southerly facing balcony, and primary bedroom. The low maintenance garden and balcony provide perfect spaces for outdoor relaxation or entertainment, with maturing clematis and rose climbing the sunny seaward elevation.
Marina View stands prominently on the hillside above Torquay's town centre and bustling harbour, from where the sea front promenade leads past the Princess Theatre to the flagship Torre Abbey Sands Beach, Torre Abbey Meadow, and Torquay Train Station. Marina View has great potential to enhance and create a statement coastal house with precedence set by neighbouring homes, or simply enjoy the current comfortable design.
EPC Rating: D
OWNERS INSIGHT
"Marina View has been happy home for more than one generation of the Hoyle family since 1984 when Gordon Hoyle built if for himself and his wife in his retirement. He was a mad keen sailor and his wife was a mad keen gardener, and even when Gordon could no longer sail himself, he loved watching the yacht races in the bay from the house, so did my husband John who inherited the house but sadly passed away before he could revitalise and extend the house as he had planned. The house has lovely views, almost the best part of which is that the sea and sky are an ever changing delight, while the sunsets provide immense light and colour shows more or less daily. I think I will miss the expanse of sky that can be seen from the house as much as the sea. It really is very beautiful. I have loved my time here and will be very sorry to leave, but needs must, and I hope that the house will make the new owners very happy and that they will love and care for the house as it deserves."
