About Potter Learoyd Commercial, Northants

Corby Enterprise Centre London Road, Corby, NN17 5EU

Marcus Learoyd and Richard Potter have set up Potter Learoyd Commercial, a Chartered Surveying practice offering bespoke commercial property advice to occupiers and owners of commercial property in Northamptonshire. Between them they have had over 50 years experience in business.

Richard spent 20 years as a Chartered Surveyor and partner with national firm Edwin Hill where he was involved in many property transactions across the country advising a wide range of clients on their occupation and ownership of commercial property. The Company became a member of the international Altus Group in 2007 and now trade in the UK under the name Altus Edwin Hill.

Marcus spent much of his career 'client side' most notably with Carphone Warehouse where he was closely involved in the company's meteoric rise from 'start up' in 1993 to one of the world's market leaders in telecommunications it has become today. He has a deep understanding of how growing and ambitious companies view their business space in terms of location, suitability for purpose and occupational costs.

Both born, bred and resident in Northamptonshire they long harboured the ambition to establish a business in the area and after over 20 years working for large organisations decided the time was right to start something of their own. Richard resigned from Altus Edwin Hill in May 2012 in order to establish Potter Learoyd Commercial.

"Having spent a fantastic 20 years with Edwin Hill, chasing clients across the country, I was looking for a new challenge and to focus my efforts on a market close to home" Richard commented. "I have known Marcus for a number of years and we decided that our contrasting business experience as occupier and agent could be combined to provide an unrivalled service to occupiers and owners of property in the area. We both share a genuine affinity for Northamptonshire, its' history and people and firmly believe we can help it become even more of a success story going forward."
