  Great city centre living and friendly front of house/ maintenance team

  Great facilities- the gym is above average and very comfortable living here. Front of house are very friendly and helpful. Any issues are very quick to resolve- nothing bad to comment about living here. Very close proximity to the train station too. Highly recommend Box Makers Yard. In terms of negative, would say the price is quite high.

  All positives- very quiet considering we are living in the city centre. Close to local shops (walking distance) and very close to the train station.

  How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

  Very quick to resolve issues. Front of house quick to escalate issues to maintenance team.

  Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

  Not many negatives. The flat is very warm which is good in winter as you might not need the heating on however, might get extremely hot in summer. Would be good to have air con option as a standard for living here considering the price point for living here.

  Amazing location, great facility!

  The facilities are good and they are quick to sort out any issues. They are also great at organising any events including the BMY live music session recently! Facilities such as the gym, the pool table and lounge area is great and so is the postal room. The grand piano keys could be fixed as there are a few keys which are chipped making it harder to play and the piano could be tuned.

  Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

  The location is very convenient and central. Temple meads and city centre is all within walking distance. However, the Sainsbury’s local nearby is quite limited and expensive.

  How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

  They were quick to sort out a few issues we noticed when moving in.

  Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

  The internet is usually quite good, although there was an outage recently but was resolved in 24 hours.

  A very interesting - if overpriced - social experiment that provides pleasant living quarters to a bunch of people

  Issues are generally dealt with swiftly (though the no-hot-water-for-several-days-at-Xmas debacle was a little less than impressive). It's a brand new built conceived to be energy efficient so utility bills are generally tolerable, though rent is very expensive for the size of flats - and rent increases every year too. It is definitely meant to be a short-term, stepping stone sort of place when one is in-between more sustainably rentable (or better still ownable) properties. Management attempts to create a resident community by organising themed events, by far the most successful being a music jam organised by the excellent Vilius recently. However Box Maker's Yard feels a bit like a grown up student hall where people share expensive space because they have to, so there is not a huge motivation to get together and establish deeper relationships (though I have made a few friends since moving in). As a large building shared by many different people, not - not all behaviours align / values are not always shared (recycling being done shoddily or not at all, trash being dumped at inopportune place....) Overall however, everyone is courteous and tries to get on in a civilised manner, which is nice.

  Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

  In terms of fun places: Veeno is top notch, as are The Barely Mow and Mokoko. Groceries are a slight pain in the rear end, with Sainsbury's nearby attracting all manner of aggressive low-life. However, Lidl at Lawrence Hill is a 15 minutes bike ride away so a more affordable weekly shop is feasible if one is amenable to riding (buses are also available but more faffy when one carries a bunch of shopping bags).

  How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

  Yes, maintenance and repairs are provided swiftly. Contractors employed are top notch and incredibly friendly. This is a wonderful and well managed team of people.

  Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

  Expectations were managed well, and we have had a pleasant enough experience throughout our tenancy at Box Makers' Yard.

  The best in Bristol city

  The design of the apartments at Box Makers Yard is ideal and very modern. The use of cabinet space in the kitchen is well thought out, providing ample storage. Additionally, the building management is highly responsive to emails, and the front-of-house staff is always friendly and happy to assist. It's a pleasure to live here.

  Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

  Living at Box Makers Yard has been a fantastic experience! One of the best aspects is the convenience of transportation. With close proximity to train stations and public transport links, getting around at any time is a breeze. Additionally, having a Sainsbury's right in the Dovetail building makes shopping for essential items quick and easy. It's truly a great place to live!

  How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

  When I initially moved into the apartment from Newport for work, I encountered a couple of minor issues, which is to be expected with any move. One of the ladies in the office, whose name starts with 'A', promptly sent me a link to the resident portal. I used this to raise maintenance requests, and these were addressed within a week. This quick response was much faster compared to my previous apartment.

  Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

  Setting up bills can take some time as providers may take a while to get back with account numbers. It's always a good idea to give utility providers a call once you move in to set up your water, electricity, and council tax. This proactive approach can help ensure everything is in order more quickly.

  Lovely place to live

  The flats are completely sound proofed which is excellent. They are also warm so you don’t need to put the heating on in the winter. The washing machine in the soundproof cupboard is a nice touch. The floor is easy to keep clean. The windows open out so you can get the feeling of being on a balcony even if you don’t have one. However the building whistles from the wind which I found a bit scary my first night but soon got used to it. The staff at reception are very friendly and helpful. Vilius helped me when I first arrived with a maintenance issue and I always felt part of a community being able to walk past the desk and be greeted in a friendly manner. The staff here do genuinely try to build sense of community. Vilius also put on some music nights on the balcony which were lovely to attend. Hayley was always there when I needed help with my flat and Sharifa was the first person to meet me when I moved in and gave me my comprehensive welcome pack.

  Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

  The development is close to a Sainsbury’s which is very handy and has good transport networks to the city and outside. The bin chute system on each floor is very handy but you do need to carry cardboard yourself to the basement. It was really convenient having an indoor rubbish yard. The soundproofing in the building is excellent. The security guards are efficient at stopping any weekend parties on the communal balcony at 11pm sharp.

  How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

  They have always been very proactive with repairs. The flat was always in good condition

  Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

  That I would get over attached to the building and that I would make a lot of nice friends so I never felt alone
