Description
'Stone Ridge House' is a wonderful unique modern home that enjoys a fantastic convenient position for both the villages of Winscombe and Sandford. Accessed via a gated private driveway your first impressions are of the impressive scale of the property and the incredible far reaching views that it enjoys. Orientated with a south/westerly aspect, the property boasts a light and airy interior with spacious rooms throughout, many of which benefit from beautiful views out over of the surrounding countryside.
Entering the property you get an immediate sense of the scale of the house with its dramatic two storey reception hallway, to the left of the hallway there is a good sized office/study, perfect for those who work from home, but equally it could add an additional fifth bedroom or play room if desired. To the rear of the hallway is a lovely dining room which is ideal for more formal dining occasions and family gatherings.
The sitting room which can be found to the right of the hallway is a truly impressive and spans the full depth of the house with the benefits of dual aspect windows. Measuring some 27' from front to back it is a great family space which focusses around a handsome brick fireplace with a cast iron woodburning stove, perfect for talking the chill off those long winter evenings.
Moving to the rear of the house you will find a wonderful kitchen/breakfast room, the true heart of the home, it is furnished with a generous amount of traditional style wall and base units, complimented by a solid wood counter top which features within it two recessed Belfast sinks. A superb 'Aga' cooker is set within a chimney recess to one side with an ornate mantle over and tiled splashback, there is a glazed display unit to the side and plenty of space for a large breakfast table. The large picture window looks out over the fabulous garden and there is a convenient side pedestrian access door to the parking and side patio. At the rear of the kitchen a door leads into a good sized utility/boot room with a handy cloakroom and additional kitchen store units.
Moving onto the first floor you will four individual bedrooms all of which benefit from their own en-suite bathrooms. The master bedroom is absolutely magnificent and features a huge walk in dressing area, a large en-suite shower and best of all an incredible covered balcony with breath taking scenic views.
Outside, the garden wraps around the property to all sides with the principal garden being to the left and rear of the house, completely enclosed and offering a high degree of privacy the garden is thoughtfully landscaped to provide areas for children (and parents) to enjoy outdoor recreation and relax. There is a large enclosed lawn with a summer house that sits to one corner housing a hot tub as well as raised flower bed borders to the boundaries. To the rear of the house the private gravel driveway separates the house from a further area of well planted landscaped garden that displays some beautiful architectural plants and a second circular lawn with a brick paved footpath around the perimeter. The gravel driveway leads to a large garage with several workshops to the rear and an impressive garden room/studio which could work for a multitude of purposes including a home office, yoga studio, gymnasium or even an occasional guest bedroom.
As has been mentioned several times the position of the house is absolutely divine and the open aspect to the rear something that can be so hard to find.
