Description
Description
Stanfield Hall is a substantial Grade II* listed country house set within a classical parkland setting of about 35 acres. Built in 1792 with later additions, the property comprises of over 15,000 square feet of accommodation to the main house as well as a separate property for the option of multi-generational living or an income generating property.
The property, partly constructed of reused monastic stonework and brick elevations of a Tudor style is a particularly imposing home. Of note is the highly individual and impressive hallway with its Gothic stone staircase which must truly be viewed to be fully appreciated. Stanfield Hall has an interesting history such as connections to the Ketts rebellion in 1549 to a Victorian shooting in 1848 with a property having been situated on the site dating back to 1216.
The ground floor accommodation comprises of spacious sitting and drawing rooms with fine views over the gardens. A panelled dining room is the perfect entertaining space for family occasions and social gatherings with its full height feature fire surround bound to be a talking point.
The kitchen is a modern and stylish addition with a vaulted ceiling and sky lights giving a contrasting contemporary feel. The handmade kitchen boasts units and an island set underneath black marble worktops, oil fired AGA, Lacanche range cooker and doors out to a terrace. The ground floor is completed via a library room, snug which could perhaps be a play room if desired, music room, laundry room, boot room, shower room and two cloakrooms. The current owners had extended the property to boast an exceptional leisure facility including a fantastic indoor swimming pool with jacuzzi, sauna, changing room with showers and a home gym room.
To the first floor are six bedrooms including the principal suite which comprises of a dressing room and large en suite. Four of the other rooms are served via their own en suite facilities making for exceptional family convenience. A first floor cinema room offers another brilliant living space and tick box on a family wish list.
A second floor consists of three interlinking bedrooms with a dressing room, sitting room and three further bathrooms. For families with older children at home this could represent an excellent space to have independency.
Within the grounds is a separate two bedroom annexe which is single storey and therefore ideal for any purchaser looking for multi-generational living. This comprises of a kitchen, sitting room, conservatory, two bedrooms both with en suites and a cloakroom.
Outside
Stanfield Hall is approached via a lengthy driveway which meanders through the parkland setting and over the moat into a gravel parking area. The bridge which is Grade II Listed and dates back to the 16th century is a standout feature so rarely seen across country houses in Norfolk. Set within Parkland grounds of about 35 acres the privacy is wonderful and the grounds offer a variety of paddock land with field shelters and large steel workshop, kitchen garden, landscaped formal gardens, tennis court and large pond.
