Description
This a very attractive, attached Grade II listed cottage with good ceiling heights and some double glazing. Throughout there are exposed or painted beams, wall panelling and either double or triple aspect rooms, making the cottage very bright which is unusual for period property.
On entering the cottage, the hallway has a terracotta tiled floor with stairs to the first floor. An intriguing small room is off the hallway which could be used as large walk-in cloakroom but is currently a study. The sitting room is a really lovely with a bay window to the front and windows to the side. Solid oak flooring, exposed vertical and ceiling timbers, wood panelling and a central fireplace with wooden surround and electric stove. On the other side of the cottage is the open plan living rooms: Oak floors run throughout the well fitted kitchen with ample cupboards and work surfaces incorporating an electric oven and hob with extractor. A bay window is the natural area for a large dining table and the room then extends into what is the sitting/tv room with double doors to the garden. There is a modern en-suite shower off, designed so that it could become a downstairs bedroom, if required. A partition wall could easily divide this room from the kitchen/dining room. On the first floor is a very large landing which would work very well as a study area. There is a cupboard housing the combination gas boiler. Panelling to the walls with a window to the rear. The main bedroom is large enough to have a super king bed along with furniture. Adjacent is the fourth bedroom and on the other side of the cottage is another large bedroom with a dressing area and a walk- in wardrobe and the third bedroom is also a double. The family bathroom has a separate shower with rain head and hand held shower unit, wash basin, w.c and claw foot roll top bath.
Services: Gas central heating, mains services, tax band C.
Outside: A high fence with double wooden gates set back from the road, gives access to the parking area for several vehicles. This is not defined from the garden and has an extensive area of pea shingle with raised beds, ornamental trees and plants, giving it more of a Mediterranean feel. The gardens have been designed to benefit from the southerly sun, with seating areas, wooden pergola with climbing plants and walls extending around most of the garden.
