Edinburgh can be reached in under an hour by car and train, whilst Dundee lies just a 20 minute drive to the north, making Cupar an ideal base for commuters. St Andrews, home of golf it situated only 10 miles to the east, whilst the pretty fishing villages of the East Neuk are also just a short drive from the town.
