Description

A superb detached 1930’s built home with generous accommodation all sitting within grounds of approximately two acres.

Southern Wood is a superb, detached home built in 1938 within a sylvan setting close to Romsey. This grand home has so much to offer and is perfect for family living. The ground floor has a variety of reception rooms all with the grandeur and period features you would expect. Our personal favourite is the conservatory with woodburning stove and doors out to the garden. The kitchen is great with adjoining utility room and a great larder cupboard.

Upstairs on the first floor you are met by a spacious landing complete with access to a balcony. The three bedrooms on this floor are all excellent doubles, two of which have en-suites, the principal also having a walk-in wardrobe. There is also a family bathroom. On the second floor are two further double bedrooms.

Outside to the front is an in/out driveway and ample parking for a variety of vehicles. The detached double garage has the benefit of a room over a further utility room and workshop. The gardens surround the house with so much to see. Areas of lawn, patio and mature shrubs of such a wide variety, a large part of the garden is woodland which allows for an abundance of flora and fauna.

Located on the outskirts of East Wellow, and about two miles from the centre of Romsey which provides an excellent range of amenities including leisure facilities, schools for all ages, both state and private, a theatre and a good range of shops for everyday needs to include two supermarkets. Wellow itself offers two public houses, primary school, village hall, various shops and a Post Office. The larger centres of Southampton and Salisbury are accessed via A36 and M27 and the cathedral city of Winchester in also within easy driving distance.
