Seller Insight
“14 High Haden Road has been our home for nearly five years. When we returned to the UK, we dreamed of finding the perfect family home—a chocolate-box thatched cottage with a stunning garden. This home exceeded all our expectations, and we envisioned it as our forever home. It is with heavy hearts that we are moving, but the opportunity to be closer to family has guided our decision. If only we could take this beautiful house with us.”

“During our time here, we’ve made thoughtful updates to enhance the home’s comfort and functionality. We transformed the bathroom in the annex into a modern walk-in wet room. The summerhouse in the garden has been insulated and fitted with electricity and internet, making it a versatile office space. Sitting in the summerhouse, opposite the pond, is a delight in every season—especially during winter when the snow falls. I often found myself watching birds from the window, even keeping a bird book close by to identify the many species that visited. On more than one occasion, pheasants wandered into view during my work calls, much to everyone’s amusement.”

“One of my favourite rooms is the snug, with its log burner, it’s a cosy retreat in winter, and another is the master bedroom which is bathed in sunlight all day long. The kitchen, with its range cooker set into a charming nook, has been the heart of our home. It’s where homework was completed as I cooked dinner—a simple yet treasured memory.”

“The garden has been a true highlight of living here. Spacious and secluded, it’s a safe haven for children and an oasis for wildlife. We even installed a wildlife camera at the bottom of the garden, capturing visits from hedgehogs, deer, and a variety of birds.”

“Our home is perfect for entertaining, whether it’s hosting garden parties or celebrating milestones like my in-laws’ golden anniversary. The annex has been ideal for guests, and the two lounges provide flexibility and comfort for gatherings.”

“Our neighbours have been another blessing. One often shares his fresh catches from fishing trips, while another generously brings fruit from her orchard. The community here is wonderfully warm and welcoming, with events throughout the year.

From quizzes at the pub to Santa’s visits for the children, it’s been a joy to be part of such a vibrant and friendly area. We’ve also enjoyed the nearby amenities—the Admiral is a personal favourite pub, and the surrounding walks and schools are exceptional.”

“The location has been ideal, especially for my commute to London, offering the perfect balance between accessibility and tranquillity.”

“What I’ll miss most is the peace and serenity of this place—working from the summerhouse, surrounded by nature, and watching the birds while I sip my coffee. Raising my children in such a safe, nurturing environment has been a privilege.”
