Description

Description

Widemouth Manor is a substantial detached property set within its own grounds which has benefited from an extensive program of renovations since our clients acquired the business in 2015. The first major development undertaken by our clients was a year-round extension of the west wing, above the existing public bar, to create a large public space known as the Sunset Lounge Bar. During this project, our clients also completely renovated the existing public bar to create a wonderful ground floor space with stunning views out to the ocean, now known as the Sunset Restaurant. Our clients then undertook a single storey extension of the Sunset Restaurant creating an enlarged space as well as a roof top terrace for the Sunset Lounge Bar. Consequently, the business now benefits from three large flexible trading spaces each with its own bar.

The business trades as a popular hotel, restaurant and bar and is popular with tourists and year-round. It benefits from year-round trade as shown in its business performance. The business has developed a good reputation for its food which is served in the Sunset Restaurant and Garden Restaurant. Widemouth Manor is also a popular destination for drinks, with the Sunset Lounge Bar serving cocktails as well as an extensive selection of wines, beers, ciders, spirits and champagne. The business has hosted a variety of events to include weddings, celebrations and private functions. Most popularly hosted in the upstairs Sunset Lounge bar which offers alfresco drinks with panoramic sea views.

The business is run day to day by a trusted team of staff including a general manager. Widemouth Manor is an extremely successful and profitable business with scope to grow, which could suit integration into either an existing group operation or acquisition by an individual operator.

Location

Widemouth Manor offers mesmerising views overlooking one of the most scenic locations in Cornwall. The property is situated in a raised position with panoramic views of the beach and the Atlantic Ocean.

Widemouth Bay is a wide sandy bay stretching for nearly two miles. It’s a popular surf spot and a Blue Flag beach. Bude was previously voted the best UK coastal resort in the British travel awards. Situated just three miles south of the seaside town of Bude and accessible along the South West Coast Path and located on a popular cycle route, Widemouth Bay offers unrivalled scenery, and ideal conditions to learn to surf or body-board. At the southern end of the beach the shore becomes very rocky; known as Blackrock Beach, there is an abundance of rock pools and it is home to an array of biodiverse marine life and the distinctive formation ‘Black Rock,’ which rises above the sea. The area has seen a significant rise in popularity in recent years which has lead to several luxury developments, reflecting the increasing status of this stunning part of the Cornwall coast.

Widemouth Bay is best accessed via the A39 which connects to the A30 dual carriage way via the A395. Newquay International Airport is located 36 miles south west of Widemouth.
