The village of Knucklas is famous for its magnificent railway viaduct designed on the theme of the nearby castle, prior to being dismantled, and is nestled in the beautiful Upper Teme Valley just off the Offa's Dyke Path, an area of considerable appeal to tourists and especially walkers. It is close to the market town of Knighton being approximately two and a quarter miles distant. It also has the benefit of being serviced by a railway station which is located on the Mid Wales line between Shrewsbury and Swansea.

The Castle Inn is located at the heart of the village and easily found from the main road or the railway station. The Castle Inn is an attractive premises of predominately stone construction with block and render extensions to the rear. It has enjoyed much investment since the end of the Covid-19 pandemic with the addition of another letting room and up-to-date fire alarms. It now provides six well appointed letting bedrooms, a character lounge bar and restaurant along with a small function room and additional games room. Its location at the centre of the village within this beautiful part of the country allows it to trade as a good all round country inn to the inhabitants of the village and the large number of tourists and outdoor enthusiasts visiting the area.
