Description
In the heart of Noto, the capital of Sicilian Baroque, a stone's throw from Via Cavour but in a quiet and peaceful location, we find Il Palazzo Nobile con Terrazzo.
Famous for its architectural wonders, including the Cathedral of San Nicolò and the Palazzo Ducezio, Noto is a fascinating city, declared aUNESCO World Heritage Site. Its streets are a riot of noble palaces, majestic churches and scenic staircases, perfect for those who love to stroll and breathe in the atmosphere of a glorious past.
Noto is also a strategic point for exploring some of Sicily's most beautiful historic centres. A 30-minute drive (36 km) takes you to Syracuse, with its splendid Ortigia, while a 40-minute drive (37 km) takes you to Modica, famous for its handmade chocolate and baroque architecture. About 40 minutes (40 km) away is Ragusa Ibla, another Baroque jewel, and Scicli can be reached in 50 minutes (52 km).
For sea lovers, the nearest beach is just 7 km away, while the Vendicari Nature Reserve is only 15 km (about 20 minutes by car), with unspoilt beaches such as Calamosche, and Marzamemi, a picturesque fishing village, is about 20 km (25 minutes by car) away.
Noto is well connected to the main airports in Sicily. The nearestairport is Catania-Fontanarossa, about 1 hour 15 minutes (90 km) away, with numerous national and international connections. Another option is Comiso, located 1 hour 20 minutes (80 km) away, which offers domestic flights and some international routes.
Palermo Falcone-Borsellino airport, on the other hand, is further away, about 3 hours and 30 minutes by car (290 km), but is an important gateway with frequent connections to many European and Italian destinations.
