Key features

  • Grade II Listed four storey Georgian residence
  • Completely restored by the current owners
  • Retained and restored period features throughout
  • Private, mature garden with terrace and Swim Spa
  • Driveway and double garage with hayloft
  • Local shop and good access to nearby Sandwich and Canterbury

Description

This Grade II Listed Georgian residence has been completely restored from top to bottom by the owners but still incorporates many external and internal period features. These include symmetrical multi-pane sash windows, chimneystacks, high coved ceilings and skirtings, wall panelling, dado and picture rails, original window shutters and impressive fireplaces, while also providing everything needed for modern living.

A driveway leads to a double garage with the potential to be converted into additional accommodation and a separate pedestrian access has a path to the period front door. The hall features the original staircase and Amtico flooring that flows through much of the ground floor and provides access to a lobby and cloakroom. The attractive dual aspect kitchen/dining room includes built in shelving, a range cooker and cream units housing various appliances, a Quooker boiling water tap and French doors to steps down to the rear terrace.

There is a snug/office with original floorboards and a fireplace flanked by inset arches and an impressive dual aspect living room with original leaded light windows, a central fireplace and three delightful bay windows. The lower ground floor includes a gym, store room, potting shed, a utility room and a games room with a spring water well and a water treatment facility, so the property is supplied with all its own water.

The half landing includes a family bathroom and separate cloakroom while the four first floor double bedrooms have fireplaces and built in wardrobes including the master with en suite facilities. The second floor has a fabulous family bathroom, two large double bedrooms and the possibility of a roof terrace.

The garden includes a large terrace, a Swim-Spa, a summerhouse, a pergola covered ‘rose walk' and a lawn surrounded by mature trees, fruit trees and shrubs with gate access to a public footpath.

What the Owner says:

We have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of restoring this beautiful Georgian property but circumstances are such that we need to move. The location is idea as we are close to Sandwich with its pubs, restaurants, shops, excellent local educational and a station with the high speed train to London and a good road network. We are also only about a mile and a half from Eastry and Ash villages with their local amenities and primary schools.
