A notable feature of Starcross is the Italianate pumping engine house, the best surviving building from Brunel's unsuccessful Atmospheric Railway
The village has amenities such as pubs, hairdressers, church, primary school and a convenience store amongst others.
Powderham castle is just under 2 miles away,which has a wonderful restaurant and farm shop.
There are many walks and cycle routes to be enjoyed and Dawlish town is only a short commute away.
