Chapel Path, SN14

Description

A charming period cottage, recently refurbished, situated on a no-through lane in the centre of Colerne village. A pitched roof porch leads into a spacious reception room looking onto the pretty courtyard garden. The downstairs features include a stone floor with underfloor heating, a fireplace housing a wood burning stove, a spiral staircase and a well-appointed kitchen. The kitchen gets a lot of light from the back window with three Velux windows and comprises a fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer and induction hob with extractor hood. There is also a built-in table for two with benches. The controls for the underfloor heating are separate from those for the living room.
The bedroom suite has an adjoining bathroom and wooden steps on the landing take you up to the loft which has restricted head height. There is a large Velux window, central heating radiator, lights and carpet. It would make a good office space or occasional second bedroom.

Situation

Colerne is a friendly village and civil parish in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, approximately 7 miles between Bath and Chippenham. It has an elevated position 545 feet (166 m) above sea level and overlooks the Box Valley to the south. It is bounded by a stretch of the Fosse Way Roman road to the west and by Bybrook to the south-east. Colerne is a lovely village, with a church as the heart of community life, two thriving pubs, post office, two doctors' surgeries, a local shop and a florist, to name a few. Early school life revolves around the excellent Colerne C of E Primary School and a bus service into both Bath and Chippenham operates for secondary schools with several private schools within easy distance. There is easy access to the M4 motorway to either Bristol or London, and the country house hotel Lucknam Park is also located around 1 mile (1.6 km) north of the village. There are regular trains to London Paddington from Chippenham Station (journey time 75 minutes). The wonderful National Trust site of Lacock village and Abbey are close by as is the village of Castle Combe. There are plenty of good local walks on the doorstep of 2 Chapel Path into the Box Valley.
