Our parents bought the house in 1963, it has been a very happy family home. As children, my two sisters and I could not have had a better place to live, with the enclosed ‘no through road’ for safety, great sociable neighbourhood and field at the back for adventures and wildlife. In 2004-2007 we created the extension, our mother lived downstairs while I (the son) and my family lived upstairs, it worked well, giving us separate dwellings but feeling involved with each other. All the neighbours are lovely and friendly, quick to get involved in street parties when national events occur etc. We have loved the summer house which gets the sun all afternoon and into the evening, sometimes sitting out in front of the chimenea with a glass of something till late. Thank you Kingsmead for such wonderful memories.
