Description

Dunmore is a spectacular country residence of great charm, located on the edge of Four Elms village and situated within glorious landscaped gardens and grounds, amounting to about 18 acres. Built in 1938, the property has been the subject of extensive internal and external renovations by the current owners to a meticulously high standard throughout, creating immaculately presented and well-appointed accommodation that is arranged over three floors and ideal for family living and formal entertaining. Salient points include a parquet flooring to the reception rooms, attractive fireplaces, bespoke kitchen by Smallbone, luxurious bathroom suites, five bedrooms, air conditioning to the first floor, a built-in Sonos sound system to all of the principal rooms and the indoor pool area, an all-weather tennis court, a superb indoor pool and spa complex and a stable yard with floodlit manège.

The reception rooms comprise a reception hall with a stunning double height ceiling incorporating a light well, an elegant drawing room featuring a fireplace with a marble surround and a full height bay window with views to the front and a triple aspect dining room also with an attractive fireplace and doors to the rear courtyard terrace.

The superb kitchen/breakfast room features a striking double height ceiling and built in window seats. The kitchen is fitted with a comprehensive range of bespoke cabinetry by Smallbone, granite countertops, a central island inset with two stainless steel sinks and integral appliances including a Wolf gas hob/oven and a Sub Zero fridge.

An informal seating area features a fireplace and adjoins an impressive orangery with a polished marble floor and doors to the rose garden.

Completing the ground floor is a study, utility room, boot room and a well-appointed cloakroom.

Arranged over the first floor is the principal suite, comprising a well-proportioned bedroom with a bay window, window seat and a fireplace, a dressing room with fitted wardrobes and an opulent en suite bathroom featuring a fireplace, doors to a balcony, twin wash basins, a roll top bath and separate shower.

There are four further bedrooms, all of excellent proportions, two served by stylish en suite bath/shower rooms and another with a fireplace, and a well-appointed family bathroom.

Accessed via a separate driveway, the stable yard comprises five loose boxes with protected sides and bolt and kick catch doors. There is a feed room, tack room, grooms flat with kitchen, bedroom and bathroom, with two further timber framed barns for storing machinery and a covered roof area for washing down horses. Beyond the yard is a full size floodlit manège with an all-weather surface and a five bay horse walker with a roof and lighting. There are several paddocks all enclosed by post and rail fencing with water supply, accessed via gravel drives leading from the stables.

The recently refurbished pool complex provides a wonderful entertaining area, with views across to the orchard and tennis court. The complex comprises a heated pool with electric cover, hot tub, sauna and a changing room with a shower and WC.

A detached garage features an adjoining clock tower, and has three bays, all with electric doors. An external staircase rises to the first floor which is currently utilised as a gym.

The gardens and grounds form a glorious backdrop, with expanses of manicured lawn interspersed with deciduous and evergreen trees, and maintained by an automated watering system. The grounds amount to about 18 acres in total.

A terrace spans the width of the property on two sides, creating ideal areas for al fresco entertaining, with one side enclosed by curved evergreen hedging, inset with raised beds and an attractive central water feature.
