The ground floor also features a versatile, cosy snug.

On the first floor, the impressive 34-foot sitting room boasts a balcony and a feature fireplace. While providing a cozy and intimate atmosphere, the room's generous proportions make it perfect for larger gatherings, creating an ideal setting for holiday celebrations.

The four bedrooms are well-served by two en suites and a family bathroom. The principal bedroom suite is particularly noteworthy, with access to a balcony and a bespoke en suite featuring glass panels, a double-ended bath, and a mosaic tiled shower.

Seller Insight
“Since the spring of 2000, The Old Flour Mills has been our cherished home. Initially, our intention was to stay for just 6 to 12 months while our daughter completed her A levels. However, once summer arrived, we found ourselves utterly captivated. The view from the deck at the rear of the property is truly breath-taking, especially on summer days when the meadow is alive with cows and the river buzzes with wildlife. There is simply no place like it.”

“Over the past 24 years, we have taken great pleasure in continually updating and refreshing the property. The house is a true lock-and-go, allowing us to travel the world with peace of mind, always knowing that The Old Flour Mills would be our safe haven to return to. Situated in the heart of a wildlife sanctuary and bordered by rivers on both sides, the property offers endless opportunities for exploration and relaxation. Adjacent to a marina, it provides excellent access to a variety of water sports and activities. Here, you can choose to be as involved or as tranquil as you desire.”

“Our favourite room has always been the kitchen, where we gather as a family, sharing meals and memories. Yet, in terms of sheer impact, the first-floor lounge, which spans the entire length of the property, stands out as the most impressive.”

“The property faces west, offering sunsets that are nothing short of spectacular. Winters here are equally magical; the house is so warm and cosy, making it a joyous place to celebrate Christmas.”
“The area is served by outstanding schools, as well as a fantastic village doctor’s surgery, a dentist, and well-stocked local convenience stores. Several excellent pubs are nearby, and we are only a 10-minute drive from St. Neots, a vibrant and thriving market town with regular train services to London, making it possible to leave the city at 6:00 pm and be enjoying a glass of Prosecco by the river at 7:30 pm.”

“We have been blessed with absolutely wonderful neighbours. The community regularly comes together, particularly with the changing of the seasons, and we hold an annual summer barbecue in our communal meadow by the weir on the river. When the freehold for the entire development became available, the residents naturally united to acquire it, allowing us to manage our homes and communal areas harmoniously.”

“A notable feature of our village is Buckden Towers, once the residence of Katherine of Aragon while Henry VIII awaited her consent for a divorce.”

“We will deeply miss the tranquillity and beauty of this place, the friendly village community, and the pervasive sense of calm that envelops you here. We were immediately captivated by how well the house functioned in every season, and now, after 24 wonderful years, it is with a heavy heart that we prepare to move on to be closer to our grandchildren. The Old Flour Mills will be incredibly difficult to leave, but we are ready for our next chapter, and it will be hard to find a place that compares.”
