Prestwick is a popular seaside town in the heart of South Ayrshire. There is a resident population of 14,880 with the wider South Ayrshire area home to circa 111,500 residents. Approximately 70% of the population is located in the adjoining coastal towns of Ayr, Prestwick and Troon.

The town is located 30 miles south west of Glasgow and is well connected via regular bus and train (3 per hour) services. Glasgow is accessed by car via the M77 motorway which is located a short distance from the subject site.The Isle of Arran can be accessed from the regular ferry service at Ardrossan Harbour, located approximately 15 miles north of Prestwick and accessible by road, bus or train (via Kilwinning Station).

The site is bounded to the north by private residential dwellings, the south by the Royal Air Forces Association Ayr & Prestwick Branch and to the east by Ardayre Road and the west by the promenade. The surrounding areas is residential in nature with the town centre a short 5-10 minute walk to the east.

The planned development looks to accommodate 17 high end residential units with a mixture of 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. There is also two 2 bedroom houses to the rear of the site. Provision has been made for each apartment to have its own private outside space as well as providing shared communal space to the front and rear of the site. Each apartment is a very generous size ranging from 94 sq m (1,011 sq ft) - 161 sq m (1,733 sq ft) for the 3 bed penthouses. This excludes any external balcony or private garden areas.
