Description

A rare opportunity to acquire a beautifully presented semi-detached four bedroom home set in the scenic hamlet of Dorsington.

Built in the 50s, this property has been extended and renovated substantially over the years, and now offers a spacious home perfect for a family looking for a rural retreat.

The gated gravel driveway at the front of the home leads the way to an impressive facade. Adorned with a mixture of red brick, render and timber, the property appears detached from the front albeit attached at the rear. The garden, bordered by a mixture of laurel and leylandii hedging and fence, wraps round from the front to the side of the property, with further hedging separating the garden from the driveway. South facing, and mostly laid to lawn, with a border down the right hand side abundant with floral displays, and patio areas providing ample space for enjoying the birdsong in the summer.

Moving into the tastefully decorated home, a useful log store sits to the left of the stable-style front door, with a boot room situated conveniently to the right-hand side. Upon entrance, the tiled hallway leads through to the kitchen/diner which makes a fantastic social space, boasting a sizeable island in the centre, complimenting the cream cabinets with matching solid wood worktops. Appliances include an AGA-style Rangemaster oven, with a gas hob, and an integrated dishwasher. A pantry is a welcome addition to the room. Further, there is a utility room which provides a washing machine and a tumble dryer, as well as a separate boiler room - the perfect place for drying clothes - and a downstairs cloakroom with w/c and sink.

There is a snug which would make an outstanding secondary living space or playroom, and a living room with Morso log burner warming the space and patio doors allowing plenty of natural light and scenic views of the neighbouring fields.

Moving upstairs, the principal bedroom is accessed from a separate landing to the left, and offers a generous ensuite with a walk-in shower, a vanity unit with a sink and a w/c, as well as a useful storage cupboard. The fourth bedroom, just behind, would be ideal for use as a single bedroom, dressing room or home office. There are two further double bedrooms, with views over the fields beyond. The family bathroom features accent navy paneling, and offers a roll top bath, a walk-in shower, a w/c and a vanity unit with a sink and practical built-in shelving.

Owner’s Comments

“Dorsington will always be special to us; having raised our family here and our daughter having married in the church earlier this year, too. We have the beautiful Heart of England forest on our doorstep, and my favourite place in the morning is walking through the woods listening to the kites singing for their breakfast, the squirrels shooting up the trees and seeing the odd deer racing by.

The local community here is great, and you can be as involved or uninvolved as you like. There are picnics in the arboretum, book clubs, and volunteers are always welcome to help prune the apple trees in the orchard or even mow the church yard and village green.

We are situated on the edge of the Cotswolds, with Stratford upon Avon and Evesham within easy reach, as well as useful train links to London and Birmingham.

It's going to be hard to find our next home, as this hamlet will be hard to beat!”
