Description
The property is approached from the lane onto a gravelled drive which is wholly owned by Wisteria Cottage with a right of access only for the adjoining cottage. The drive leads around the front of the cottage to the side, with a gravelled car parking and turning area, adjoining which is the garaging with two up and over doors. At the front of the cottage there is a small, grassed area bordered by flowering shrubs, while the majority of the garden is to the rear. French windows lead from the kitchen and sitting room onto a large terraced area with steps to the rear garden. This is principally to lawn, is partly walled and flanked on both sides by tall hedging. At the bottom of the garden there is a small orchard area with apple trees and a former vegetable garden flanked by picket fencing.
Locally, Donhead Sports Club is a small friendly club which offers many sports including tennis, netball, football and cricket. There is racing at Wincanton, Salisbury and Bath. Golf at Tollard Royal, Blandford Forum and Sherborne. Extensive walking, riding and cycling in the surrounding countryside. Water sports are on the south coast.

Wisteria Cottage is quietly positioned close to the church of St Mary which is within the Cranborne Chase and West Wiltshire Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This part of West Wiltshire has become increasingly popular due in no small part to the attractiveness of the surrounding countryside. The Donheads (St Mary and St Andrew) have a thriving community with many clubs and societies, two churches and a pub. The nearby village of Ludwell has a shop/post office, together with a butcher and primary school and Semley has a village shop, café, primary school and pub. For more extensive requirements there is the hilltop Saxon town of Shaftesbury which has a wide range of facilities including niche retailers, cafes and supermarkets, together with a health centre, small hospital, a library and an arts centre with small cinema. More comprehensive facilities can be found in the cathedral city of Salisbury. There is a mainline railway station at Tisbury (London Waterloo) and the A303 lies some eight miles to the north giving access to the south-west and London, via the M3.
