About Us
Company Profile

Keats Fearn was founded by Peter Fearn, who started his lifetime career in estate agency back in the heady days of 1970, and he was joined a few years later by his son, James Fearn, who is a Member of The National Association of Estate Agents. They are supported by a strong, dedicated team of friendly, well-trained professionals. Our office is prominently located on one of the busiest streets in the heart of Farnham's elegant and bustling, Georgian centre.

We specialise in the sale and rental of residential homes in Farnham and the surrounding towns and villages, including Alton, Arford, Bentley, Churt, Crondall, Dockenfield, Elstead, Ewshot, Four Marks, Frensham, Frith End, Holybourne, Kingsley, Medstead, Ropley, Runfold and Tilford. We have a strong emphasis on land acquisition for new homes and their subsequent sales, and also concentrate on Auctions and Conveyancing.

We offer honest, realistic advice, tailored to obtain the best price for our sellers and landlords, and we will always 'go the extra mile' to ensure all of our customers are completely satisfied.

Mayfair Office

Whilst the majority of houses undoubtedly sell to people with local connections, there are a significant number of buyers who are attracted from further afield through active marketing to a wider audience. These should never be underestimated.

This is where our Mayfair Office comes in. Situated in Thayer Street, W1 in the heart of London's West End between Oxford Street and Marylebone Village, Mayfair Office handles our national advertising and PR. Our London team is skilled in property marketing and enables us to offer unbeatable local knowledge supported by all the benefits of a West End agency.

As well as being a London showcase for our property, our colleagues in Mayfair Office excel in securing valuable national PR on our clients' properties in titles such as The Times, The Telegraph, The Evening Standard, etc. Their contacts with property journalists in the national media have been very well developed over the past 20 years.

Mayfair Office is also a leading advertiser in all the major national newspapers, and magazines such as Country Life and Horse & Hound. Their large buying power enables them to pass on significant discounts to our clients.

This regular exposure of property to a wider national market through editorial features and national advertising is an ongoing process which generates property enquiries from buyers who will probably not be registered with other local estate agents.

About Farnham

Interestingly, the Saxons gave Farnham its name, which was originally Fearnhamme, fearn referring to the fern and bracken of the land and hamme to the water meadows.

The town centre is dominated by Farnham's Norman castle, which dates back to the 12th Century and was home to the first Cistercian Abbey founded in Britain. It has been an important meeting place for the kings and queens of England and stands on the southern edge of Farnham's historic deer park. The town has known many famous sons and daughters, including Jonathan Swift (1667-1645), best known as the author of Gulliver's Travels, Augustus Montague Toplady (1740-1778), who wrote the hymn Rock of Ages, William Cobbett (1763-1835), arguably the most influential person Farnham has ever produced, Florence Nightingale (1820-1910), who was connected to Farnham through her aunt, Ann, who married George Nicholson, the owner of Waverley Abbey, Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930), who featured the village of Tilford in two of his novels and the famous architects, Edwin Lutyens (1869-1944), and Harold Faulkner (1875-1963).

Farnham is noted for its many exclusive shops, quaint flower filled courtyards, pavement cafes, mainline station offering a fast regular service to Waterloo, and ready access to large areas of open countryside and National Trust Land, offering a wealth of opportunities for walking, riding, golf and other country pursuits.

There is a wide choice of state and private schools in the area for children of all ages, and the town is home to UCA Farnham (University for the Creative Arts).

Farnham Maltings works with communities across South-East England to encourage the greatest number of people to make, see and enjoy the best art possible.
