Freehold

Description

Bryan Bishop and Partners are proud to present this rare opportunity to own a well-presented three bedroom detached bungalow, with detached double garage situated on a great sized wrap around plot overlooking the Village Green. The plot is both wide and deep and offers tremendous scope to extend, subject to the necessary planning permission.

Upon entering the property, you'll step into a welcoming open entrance hallway. Inside, you'll discover three spacious double bedrooms, offering the potential for flexible layout adjustments. Two of these bedrooms are found off the hallway, both generously sized and well-lit by natural light. The former third bedroom, now transformed into a living room, enjoys ample sunlight thanks to its southwest positioning at the front of the property.

Moving towards the rear, you'll find the family bathroom and a well-designed open plan kitchen dining room. The kitchen boasts numerous base and eye level units, a central island with a wash basin, and additional storage space. This area is a bright and inviting space, benefiting from French doors leading to the rear garden—perfect for entertaining guests during summer. The utility area, along with a shower room, provides convenient access to the rear garden.

The previous larger living and dining rooms have been cleverly converted into a spacious master bedroom suite, complete with a dressing room. The master bedroom itself offers the charm of a working open fireplace and a shower/wet room.

Outside, the property features an expansive driveway with parking for over 10 cars, leading to a double garage. The rear garden boasts a substantial patio area and a generously sized garden shed, catering to additional storage requirements.

Location:
The attractive village of Tewin, arranged around two village greens and nestled between Welwyn Garden City and Hertford, is a highly desirable and sought-after residential area. The property is located on the northern side of the village, which provides excellent local amenities including a community-owned village store/café/post office, two pubs, an historic parish church and a thriving primary school. The latter has a swimming pool, which is open to families during the summer holidays. The Memorial Hall hosts many community and social activities and other events. Sports are catered for by popular cricket, tennis and bowls clubs. Nearby Tewinbury Farm boasts hotel accommodation, dining and entertainment. The nearest railway station is Welwyn North, approximately 1 mile away, which provides fast regular services to London King's Cross in just 34 minutes. Access to the A1(M) J6 is only 3 miles away. The nearby towns of Welwyn Garden City, Hertford, Stevenage, St Albans and Hatfield also ensure that a wide array of facilities is within easy reach.

Bryan Bishop and Partners

doesn’t change but continues...

By Martin Bishop FNAEA

After 40 years at Bryan Bishop and Partners and 30 of those at the helm dealing with some of the finest properties in the area, there comes a time when one needs to look to the future. I still love the job I do but felt it was time to make some changes and search for a younger person to assist me in moving the company forward.

I interviewed several people without success and then, as if by fate, I was introduced to someone who I thought would be an excellent addition to Bryan Bishops. His name is Ben Shaw. Ben lives in Tewin with his wife Lauren and two young children and had worked in estate agency for 14 years. We got on immediately and he joined me as a partner of the business in November 2021. Over the last eight months Ben has proved to be an invaluable asset, he has a very professional and likeable manner and has a proven track record dealing with the upper end of the market. He has brought new ideas to the business and has already built up an impressive list of clients in and around the Welwyn area.

Estate agency is a very competitive business but I am completely at ease knowing I have someone I can trust to uphold the traditional values and approach that were taught to me by my father, Bryan, who started the business over 50 years ago.

Ben is 34 years old but has a maturity of someone much older, he has the advantage of youth and a work ethic only derived from being being passionate about the job he does.
