Description

Quaint 2 bed country cottage with gorgeous views in the sought after village of Strachur, on the banks of Loch Fyne. Situated just a very short drive / stroll from the village primary school, homely ‘Tombuie Cottage’ comprises a large U-shaped sitting / dining room with cosy log burning stove, fitted kitchen with solid wood worktops, Belfast sink and under-floor heating, shower room also with under-floor heating, and two double bedrooms on the upper floor, one of which boasts and en-suite cloakroom. Externally, the gated front garden has an area which would make a nice place to sit out, or just keep neat and tidy, and there is space for a car to park off-road, although there is plenty of room in front of the property to park. The side leads to a private courtyard at the back and on to a timber shed which is insulated and benefits by its own fusebox so could be used as a home office. This cottage would make an ideal holiday bolt-hole, but would be equally as good as a full-time residence in a glorious part of Argyll.

Surrounded by rolling countryside and hills, on the shores of Loch Fyne, Strachur is situated perfectly for commuting to Dunoon, the Royal Burgh of Inveraray, or Loch Lomond, but is still only little more than an hour's drive away from Glasgow. Strachur boasts a well-known Inn offering accommodation, restaurant and lounge bar, a Medical Centre with in-house pharmacy, Post Office with well stocked shop and tea room, retail service station, a vibrant community hall and a primary school with secondary school in Dunoon. The Loch Lomond & Cowal Way is Scotland's most diverse, long distance footpath, available to cyclists, walkers and horse riders. It passes through Strachur and some of the most dramatic scenery in the West Highlands, eventually linking up with the West Highland Way.
