At Campbeltown, only 16 miles away and famous for its whisky distilleries, past and present, there are a wide variety of services and amenities including two supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, cafes, a leisure centre, water sports centre and a recently refurbished cinema with two screens. Further afield are the golf links at Machrihanish and Southend and, at the northern end of Kintyre there are ferry terminals at Claonaig and Kennacraig offering the opportunity to explore the neighbouring islands of Arran and Islay respectively.
