Bishops Waltham has a range of independent shops and restaurants and both Winchester and Petersfield offer plenty of shopping and cultural opportunities. Winchester has a regular fast train service to London Waterloo (from 57 minutes), Southampton Airport is 12.6 miles away with scheduled flights to a variety of national and European destinations. Independent schools include Twyford School, The Pilgrims' School, St Swithuns School, Winchester College, The Gregg School, West Hill Park and King Edward VI School. Swanmore Primary School and Swanmore College are in the village.
