Description

On a popular village development with plenty of greenspace is this detached family home, well presented, well looked after, and with a good-sized garden, a two-car driveway and a garage.

Appealing to a wide range of residents, this is a property particularly suited to a family, and the house is ready for yours to move right in. The owners purchased from Barratt in 2019, with the property only a year old, so there are still a few years left on the guarantee, giving new owners peace of mind. Since moving in, they’ve improved upon the original interiors, adding personality by wallpapering and painting.

Stepping inside into the hall, there’s a cloakroom by the front door, and useful storage for coats and shoes so they don’t clog up the entrance. At the end of the hall is the full-width kitchen/dining room. This is the owners’ favourite part of the home, and no wonder—it’s where a family will spend the most time, whether that be mealtimes together or when entertaining friends. Being open plan, the space makes sense socially, with everyone in one place. The dining area has capacity to seat at least eight guests, and there’s bar seating at the peninsular for quick breakfasts before school. The owners love that the dining area opens onto the garden for coming in and out easily on sunny days.

The kitchen is fitted in stylish gloss cabinetry with coordinating wood-effect worktops. There are integrated appliances including an oven, a hob, a dishwasher, and a recently installed Bosch fridge/freezer, and the utility cupboard in the corner has plumbing in place for a washing machine and a tumble dryer, so these are out of the way when not needed.

To the front of the house, there’s separation to a spacious lounge. When dinner’s done and the kids have tidied their toys and gone to sleep, this is ideal for parents, who can relax on big, comfy sofas for a film. The window to the front faces west, so evening sun flows in.

Heading upstairs, parents have the principal bedroom. This is generous, with space for a superking bed, an armchair, and for freestanding or fitted wardrobes. There’s an en suite shower room, and the remaining three bedrooms share the family bathroom. For the owners, having four double bedrooms has been a benefit, rather than three large and one they can only really use as an office.

The sunny South East facing garden has been a blessing too, especially in summertime. It’s a great size, with a lawn for little ones to run around on, and Italian porcelain paving to sit outside and watch them play. Enclosed on all sides, children and pets are safe and secure, and there’s a gate to the front. The front has a tandem driveway for two cars, a garage for a third if needed, as well as space on the road.

Whittington Crescent is part of the Marston Fields development, on the eastern edge of Marston Moretaine. There’s a green opposite the property, and multiple parks on the doorstep. The owners and their children often do a lap of four of the parks in one go, seeing as they’re all within minutes on foot or by scooter. Since moving to the village, they’ve discovered lovely walks and bike rides, including to The Forest Centre and around the country park, over to Stewartby Lakes, and into the woodland at Marston Thrift.

The location also affords easy access into London and beyond by rail from either Flitwick or Bedford, and the line goes via St Albans for days out, or into Brighton for weekends away. Milton Keynes is about 20 minutes away by car, and Marston Moretaine is five minutes from the M1.

Marston Moretaine is so popular because of its connection to nature, its convenient position, and also its array of amenities. There are shops, cafés and takeaways, schools and sports facilities, doctors, dentists and vets, and a butchers where the owners stock up for barbeques. There are regular events for the community to get involved with if they like, and the community here is so wonderful that the owners would happily take their neighbours with them on their move. Instead, they offer their house to new owners, who we’re sure will be very happy in this home.
