There is a good supply of cabinets and sky light that allows natural light to illuminate the room. A back door allows access to the garden and located at the rear of property is the downstairs cloakroom.
Upstairs on the first floor is a double bedroom and an open room which is idea for a home office. Also located on the first floor is a modern family bathroom which has a clawed bath and separate shower cubicle. Stairs lead up to the second floor to the other double bedroom where large windows give panoramic West facing views across the garden, rooftops and beyond.
Externally there is an approximately 70ft garden that has areas for eating and entertaining.
Why the owner loves the property:
I’ve lived in this characterful late 18th century house for ten years and loved it. For me, the highlights are the garden, which catches the sun all day in the summer, the panoramic view from the top room and winter fires in the living room. It has a charm that comes with age yet works well as a modern house, with an area ideal for working from home that overlooks the garden. The garden is divided into four distinct zones and is a delight. The rich soil means plants grow very well, as raspberry crops attest, and the patio by the house is a perfect spot for morning coffee and evening beer. The neighbours in both directions are very friendly, and there is a sense of community among the occupants of these cottages, who all seem to love them. Wargrave itself is a fabulous place to live, large enough to have lots going on but still small enough to feel like a village. The station is a pleasant 8 minute walk, so you can be at Paddington within 45 minutes of leaving the house, or Henley in 15. The house is just about mid-way between the two very good pubs. There are two decent cafés just yards away and the useful general store is a ten minute walk up the hill.
