Derbyshire street has a rich history, reflecting the changing demographics and industries of East London over the centuries dating back to the 17th century. The area was originally known as Greenfield and was part of the ancient parish of Stepney. The name Bethnal Green is believed to have originated from the Anglo-Saxon words "bethan hale" meaning "house in a clearing in the woods."

In the 19th century, Bethnal Green became a centre of textile manufacturing, with numerous mills and factories in the area. Many workers' homes, including those on Derbyshire Street, were built during this time. The area suffered significant damage during World War II, particularly during the Blitz in 1940 and 1941. Many buildings, including some on Derbyshire Street, were destroyed or damaged.

In the post-war years, Bethnal Green became known for its large immigrant population, particularly from Bangladesh. Today, it is a diverse and multicultural area. The V&A Museum of Childhood is located on Cambridge Heath Road, just a few blocks from Derbyshire Street. The museum houses a collection of toys, games, and other artifacts related to childhood. The Columbia Road Flower Market, a popular destination for flower lovers, is also located nearby. The market is held every Sunday and attracts visitors from all over London. The nearby Brick Lane area is known for its vibrant street art scene, as well as its many restaurants, markets, and shops.

This property is a true one-of-a-kind, the sort that only occasionally becomes available for the rentals market and gives the opportunity to experience modern living in one of the most vibrant areas of London.
