Heating is oil-fired for the main house, and electric with convector heaters and reversible air-conditioning for the gîte.
Water is supplied by a borehole, and heated by the oil-fired boiler; drainage is via a septic tank, which needs to be brought up to standard.
The roof has been overhauled, but the living area needs to be inspected by a roofer.
The interior of the gîte has been completely renovated in a more modern style with travertine, and the main living area has been renovated in keeping with the old spirit (terracotta floor tiles, original cement tiles).

There's a grocery store, café/brasserie, newsagent/tabac, bakery and post office. This hamlet is surrounded by agricultural fields and countryside that were originally vineyards, hence the name Les Vignères.
