South Drive has direct pedestrian access to Ferring beach. This delightful pebble and sand beach is less well known than some of the more high profile locations on the south coast such as Worthing and Brighton and as a consequence is rather more secluded with pretty beach huts, trees and greensward. The well known Bluebird cafe, just off West Drive, is also nearby. Ferring itself is a popular seaside village with two small shopping parades, both served by bus routes giving access to the surrounding area including Worthing town centre. A small parade of shops is located within walking distance and in the village centre there is a doctors' surgery, dentist, Spanish tapas restaurant, vets, library, delicatessen and well stocked Co-op store. There are excellent roads links and a mainline railway station providing services to Hove, Brighton, London and Gatwick.
