The Loch has been used as a stocked Trout Loch in the past and fish are still present.

There is an area of conifer woodland which has blown down in recent storms. A felling licence has been submitted to clear the conifers and restore this to native trees.

The Loch provides a source of drinking water to several local properties and there is a requirement to maintain the dam and fixtures.
