Description
A GREAT LOCATION
Dating back to 2001, the appealing house is believed to have been built in the 1980s. It has a driveway and a single garage. “We are right opposite a communal green, where there have been community parties and gatherings on special occasions, such as the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee,” she says. “This is a friendly place to live and it is also very quiet. Yet we are also very close to the train station and are well positioned for shops, schools and two garden centres, as well as restaurants and coffee shops.” The property is well placed for Milton Keynes, Bedford and the M1 motorway. “A lot of people who live here commute into London,” she adds. “Living in this location has worked very well for us over the years.”
FAMILY LIFE
The ground floor of the house encompasses all the main living space. “The kitchen dining room is very much the hub of the home and is where we spend most of our time,” she says. “There is room for an eight-seat table, so we can all sit down together very comfortably.” The kitchen, which opens into the utility room, is well designed for cooking and for entertaining. “A door from the utility room opens up to the garden, so when the weather is fine the children come in and out a lot. They can play football or basketball out there and we can also wander out easily to relax in the sunshine.”
HAPPY TIMES
Also downstairs is the sizeable sitting room. Here there is plenty of space for everyone to gather to play games, watch films and spend quality time together. “When we have parties, this is also where people tend to congregate – they spread out between this room and the kitchen dining room and there is always plenty of space,” she says. “I think we will definitely miss having so much room when we move.” Doors from the sitting room can be opened up on to the garden in the summer months, which is ideal for anyone who enjoys indoor-outdoor living.
VERSATILE ROOMS
The bedrooms and bathrooms are spread across the upper two levels of the house. Here rooms could easily have alternative uses if required by the new owners. Some could well make work or leisure rooms or perhaps a den for teenagers. “The beautiful master bedroom suite, with its en suite bathroom, is on the first floor, together with two other double bedrooms and the family bathroom. Two more double bedrooms and a bathroom are on the top floor,” she says. “One of these is so large that it could easily be converted into two bedrooms if needed.”
COUNTRY TOWN FEEL
Woburn Sands is a popular place to live. It retains its historic nature and its small country town feel while also embodying a vibrant, modern-day appeal. There are a number of golf courses in the area and plenty of places to take children and visitors at weekends. The Woburn Estate is a major draw to the area. This includes impressive Woburn Abbey, which has been the home of the Dukes of Bedford for nearly 400 years. “There is a lot to do here in the area and we are in such a good location for travelling to other places,” she says. “At the same time, it is a very peaceful place for those who just want somewhere to relax.”
