Description

The Kings Arms occupies a roadside position on Church Street in the town centre of Amesbury. It is surrounded by many local shops, restaurants and pay and display car parks for anyone requiring access to the centre of the town. Amesbury is located two miles east of Stonehenge; it is an attractive town which sits on the River Avon and has a weekly market, an historic museum housing one of Britain's largest Mesolithic collections and many local amenities including hotels, bed and breakfasts, independent shops, restaurants and public houses. There is a large military presence in the area with the Ministry of Defence's Boscombe Down located east of the town, the garrison town of Larkhill just north of Stonehenge, Bulford Camp on Salisbury Plain, and the Plain itself utilised by the Ministry of Defence.

Amesbury is very popular with commuters as it is conveniently located adjacent to the A303, a major trunk road connecting London to the West Country. On the eastern edge of the town is also a large business park-Solstice Park. According to the 2021 census, the town has a population of around 13,000 and it is approximately 7.5 miles north of the cathedral city of Salisbury which has a population of approximately 45,000. Salisbury train station has South Western Railway services connecting to London Waterloo and Great Western Railway services connecting to Portsmouth, Bristol and Cardiff.

The Kings Arms occupies a mid 18th century, Grade II listed property over two storeys, constructed of painted brick under a pitched tile roof. Having various single storey rear extensions, the property is briefly described as follows:
