Durban sur Arize is a small Ariège village of just under 200 inhabitants on the banks of the Arize river.

Durban is a great place to live, to walk, fish, run, garden, cycle, relax and to chat and meet people

Living in Durban means you can enjoy the benefits of proximity to the major towns and cities of the department and the region, while retaining the peace and quiet of village life.

The support of the Ariège Departmental Council has enabled the village to be connected to the fibre optic internet network. Thanks to this, it is now possible to benefit from efficient access to the various modern means of communication.

The village centre is organised around the village square, which offers a vehicle-free area. The banks of the river and the footpaths that run alongside it allow you to enjoy the coolness on summer days.

Le Trail des Résistants

Since 2017, the village of Durban sur Arize has been criss-crossed by the neighbouring towns of Castelnau-Durban and Montseron during this great sporting event.

Every March, around 600 participants come together, sometimes under inclement skies, but always in a great atmosphere.

The event also helps to maintain the many walking trails that criss-cross our village.
