The international airport of Dalaman is a 1 hour drive (approx 63km).

Uzumlu is situated inland and there is a choice of two towns to use close by; 30 minute drive to the harbour town of Fethiye (approx 24km) or slightly closer you can find Seydikemer Town which has Banks, Medical Center etc. (approx 18km).

The closest beach resort is 23km away, called Calis and the journey time by car is 25-30 minutes.
The area is becoming popular with those that want a peaceful and tranquil alternative to the larger and busy tourist resorts close by, yet still wish to remain within easy reach of the bustling harbour town of Fethiye. Fethiye can be easily accessed via the local dolmus bus service which runs regularly and all year round.

There is a small community of ex-pats who have chosen Uzumlu for year round living and the local villagers are extremely friendly and welcome their foreign neighbours.

Heading East out of the village you're a stone's throw from the ancient city of Cadianda / Kadyanda. It's a remote site of ruins set high up above the village of Uzumlu dating back to around 3000BC. There is a Roman bathhouse, ancient stadium and other ancient inscriptions and tumbled remains. Aswell as the ruins there are plenty of forest trails which to explore, perfect for hiking od dog walking in the cooler months. The views are spectacular and can never be tired of.
