Directions

From the M6 J36 follow the signs Kendal and then Windermere. At the north end of Kendal at the end of the town’s bypass is the large Plumgarths roundabout. Take the first exit onto the B5284, passing through the village of Crook (with The Sun Inn on your right). Continue for around 1.5 miles and upon reaching The Wild Boar Hotel (also on the right) turn left, towards Winster and follow the single track lane. Near the brow of the hill, turn left, there is a sign on the wall at this point for Gilpin Lake House, if you pass the entrance to the Lake House, you’ve gone too far. Follow the lane down which leads you to the bottom of the valley, passing Gilpin Mill on your right head over the river and climb the hill and take the next right hand turn. Yew Wood is the first property on the right hand side with gates opening onto the drive and further parking space just off the road further along.
