Description

A former dairy unit, most recently used for pig rearing, comprises a concrete yard with two portal-framed modern agricultural buildings. The farm buildings are accessed from a hardcore farm track leading from the public highway along the southern boundary. The track continues north past the farm buildings and gives access to the farmland beyond. This part of the gravel farm track has natural springs underneath.

The larger structure, once housing cattle, occupies the central position and includes four feed bins to the north. Adjacent to the north, the second building is an open fronted steel portal frame, general purpose farm building, used for storage of machinery and straw.

Location

Situated in the sought after village of Rockbourne, a picturesque rural parish, designated as a conservation area, with thatched houses, a popular local public house, a village hall, primary school, church, and a winterbourne runs through valley, known as the Sweatford Water. The surrounding area has evidence of settlement from the earliest prehistoric periods with many barrows and enclosures and just to the south of the village is a Roman villa.

Fordingbridge, just 4 miles to the south, is a small riverside town on the banks of the River Avon, known as the gateway to the New Forest. Local facilities including schools, shops and medical centres are available in Fordingbridge.

The Cathedral City of Salisbury, less than 10 miles to the north east, offers a variety of sporting and recreational amenities including theatre, cinema, golf and racing at Salisbury Race Course. Salisbury Station offers a direct train service to London Waterloo.
