Property Details

Set in this supremely popular location, providing convenient access to the newly refurbished West Reading Station and a wealth of local amenities whilst still being a stones throw from Reading Town Centre is this extended and improved period terrace home which is a credit to the current owners.
On the ground floor, the property opens up to a spacious sitting / dining area with dual aspect and door leading to a refitted kitchen with appliances rear and side aspect windows providing natural light.
To the first floor are 3 bedrooms and a separate, refitted bathroom. The current owners have also extended into the loft space with a full dormer extension which has created a substantial master suite, with full en suite bathroom and separate oversized shower cubicle and enjoying elevated views across rooftops.
A unique and delightful feature of this home is the fact the property has a traditional 'terrace' garden which then opens up to an 60' x 60' further garden area which the current owners have spent time in turning into a productive fruit and vegetable garden with various seating areas.

Why the owner loves the property:
Our home is situated on a no-through road, which means it is much quieter than many other roads in the area. It is but a 2 minute walk to Reading West station and in the mornings there are direct trains to London Paddington (which was great when I used to work in London). It is a 1km walk to the town centre, but does have a Post Office, corner shops and pharmacies within a 3 min walk on the Oxford Road. In the drier months I enjoy walking down to the riverside with my son (10 mins), and there is a new playground, soft-play, swimming pool and gym in the recently-refurbished Rivermead Leisure Centre. Renovating the home has been a real labour of love.. The garden is quite exceptional for a terraced home in the area and everyone who has visited has admired it. I often give away our home-grown fruit and vegetables to friends as the garden yields more than we can consume as a small family. We grow cherries, apricots, apples, pears and plums. We also have excellent raspberries, strawberries, gooseberries, blueberries, tayberries, mulberries, blackcurrant and 3 varieties of grape. We further grow salads, carrots, radish, peas, broccoli, beetroot, kohlrabi, onions (red, white and spring), garlic and many different herbs and edible flowers. Everything in the garden has been built by our own hands - we have reclaimed local bricks from homes in the area and laid them ourselves. We hope you will love this home as much as we have.
